WENDY DRIVE REMODEL

Located in the heart of Newbury Park, this home was extensively remodeled from its original condition. The original floor plan was a functional and open and no alterations were needed to modernize the layout.  New doors and windows, Hardie siding, bright white stucco and new lighting give it a fresh look. New drought-tolerant landscape in the front yard with rustic cedar fencing was added to complement the farm-style exterior.  SCId+b provided both design and construction services for this project.

FIRST NEIGHBORHOOD GEM

Located in the beautiful First Neighborhood in Westlake Village, this home was completely upgraded with a fresh and modern aesthetic, and recreated to exude the California lifestyle, with seamless indoor-outdoor living and entertaining at its best!

The Primary Suite was completely reconfigured to include a generous walk-in closet and a beautiful Primary Bath with designer floor-to-ceiling tile, large walk-in shower, freestanding tub, water closet and two large floating vanities with LED mirrors. The sewer, water, electrical and HVAC were all upgraded. SCId+b provided both design and construction services for this project.

NEWBURY PARK RANCH HOUSE

Located in Newbury Park, this ranch house was built in 1952 and was previously owned by one of the Kelley family members, a prominent Conejo Valley family at that time. This home was completely renovated and additions were made to create an entryway and an office, and a large oversized two-car garage.  The original garage was converted to an Accessory Dwelling Unit.  SCId+b provided both design and construction services for this project.

STORYBOOK NEIGHBORHOOD REMODEL

Located in a great tract in Newbury Park, this home needed a refresh. To make the home accessible, a step was removed in the front entry way inside and outside to make it barrier-free. In the family room, a small outdoor patio was enclosed so a large slider could be added for easy indoor-outdoor access and to give a clear view to the beautiful backyard from the kitchen. A large island was added in the kitchen with a prep. sink.  The electrical and mechanical were upgraded and LED can lights added throughout to make it an efficient and comfortable home. Drought-tolerant plantings were added to reduce water consumption.  SCId+b provided both design and construction services for this project.

DETACHED ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT

This Accessory Dwelling Unit was the first to be completed in the City of Thousand Oaks after the California state law was passed allowing for accessory dwelling units on single-family zoned lots.  As designer we were sensitive to a community that deeply values its single-family character. The detached dwelling’s scale and design seamlessly blends into the site with the existing single family home. At only 381 square feet, it efficiently is composed of a bedroom, three-quarter bath, and living area with kitchenette. A storage loft was also included to provide extra storage space.  SCI d+b provided both design and construction services for this project.

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

This diamond in the rough was reimagined and totally redone to give it new life.  The existing living area consisted of a tiny kitchen closed off from the living area and a dark and cramped dining area.  It was opened up into a great room with natural light streaming in from two large patio doors and new skylight.  A large and functional kitchen now opens up to the living and dining areas. The entryway provides privacy to the living area while providing a view to the back yard for a welcoming introduction to the home.  The master bath was reconfigured to provide a double vanity within an efficient space.  SCI d+b provided both design and construction services for this project.

JUNIOR ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT

This previous den with a closet was converted to a studio with a three-quarter bath.  The generously sized existing closet was ideal to be converted into a three-quarter bath.  A small efficiency kitchenette was provided to complete the living space. SCI d+b provided both design and construction services for this project.

RUSTIC RANCH REMODEL & BARN STRUCTURES

The modest existing three bedroom house was redesigned and reconfigured to fit the lifestyle and aesthetics of it’s new Owner.  The existing farmhouse style was given a rustic ranch touch with a modern and functional interior.  The living space takes advantage of views and outdoor living opportunities on this beautiful country estate.  The two additional accessory barn structures add functionality to the operations on this estate.  SCId+b provided design services for this project.

KITCHEN REMODEL

This existing kitchen was expanded and took advantage of wasted space that was a dining area previously separated from the kitchen.  An island was added, and the ceiling soffit was removed, creating a beautiful vaulted ceiling which highlights the existing skylight, bringing light into the space.  SCI d+b provided design services for this project.
