FRANKIE DRIVE REMODEL
Located in one of the first tracts built in Newbury Park, this home was ready for a refresh. The small primary bathroom was expanded to accomodate a double vanity, and the furnace was relocated to the attic to make room. New doors and windows, crisp white stucco, and new drought-tolerant landscape makes for an attractive introduction to the home. The plumbing, electrical and HVAC were upgraded, and insulation was added to the exterior walls and attic. In the rear yard, ficus hedges were planted, and a large grass lawn was installed to provide an oasis of privacy and greenery. SCId+b provided both design and construction services for this project.

STORYBOOK NEIGHBORHOOD REMODEL
Located in a great tract in Newbury Park, this home needed a refresh. To make the home accessible, a step was removed in the front entry way inside and outside to make it barrier-free. In the family room, a small outdoor patio was enclosed so a large slider could be added for easy indoor-outdoor access and to give a clear view to the beautiful backyard from the kitchen. A large island was added in the kitchen with a prep. sink. The electrical and mechanical were upgraded and LED can lights added throughout to make it an efficient and comfortable home. DETACHED ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT
This Accessory Dwelling Unit was the first to be completed in the City of Thousand Oaks after the California state law was passed allowing for accessory dwelling units on single-family zoned lots. As designer we were sensitive to a community that deeply values its single-family character. The detached dwelling’s scale and design seamlessly blends into the site with the existing single family home. At only 381 square feet, it efficiently is composed of a bedroom, three-quarter bath, and living area with kitchenette. A storage loft was also included to provide extra storage space. SCI d+b provided both design and construction services for this project.

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH
This diamond in the rough was reimagined and totally redone to give it new life. The existing living area consisted of a tiny kitchen closed off from the living area and a dark and cramped dining area. It was opened up into a great room with natural light streaming in from two large patio doors and new skylight. A large and functional kitchen now opens up to the living and dining areas. The entryway provides privacy to the living area while providing a view to the back yard for a welcoming introduction to the home. The master bath was reconfigured to provide a double vanity within an efficient space. SCI d+b provided both design and construction services for this project.
RUSTIC RANCH REMODEL & BARN STRUCTURES
The modest existing three bedroom house was redesigned and reconfigured to fit the lifestyle and aesthetics of it’s new Owner. The existing farmhouse style was given a rustic ranch touch with a modern and functional interior. The living space takes advantage of views and outdoor living opportunities on this beautiful country estate. The two additional accessory barn structures add functionality to the operations on this estate. SCId+b provided design services for this project.
